Illinois Baby Shower

Saturday July 28th we had our first baby shower!! It was a co-ed shower thrown by Anne's parents in Freeport, IL.
They got us a massive cake...delish!!

Here is a shot of our family sitting around waiting for us to open our presents.
This is Anne's good friend from high school...Charla and her eleven month old Ariel.
Wes, another good friend from high school, and his girlfriend Jen.
And finally my two good friends Jess and Amy!!

Unfortunately I was so excited to see everyone that I didn't take ANY pictures with my camera, so we are limited to these photos. I'm sorry we didn't get everyone's picture! Other than that we had a blast at the shower. It was beautiful outside, the food was excellent, and it was great to catch up with everyone again. We received a lot of very nice things for little Ethan, thanks everyone!!

Baby Ethan

At 29 1/7wks "little" Ethan hasn't been feeling so little to me! The other day while I was waiting to get my oil changed he was going wild. I'm almost positive he was doing jumping jacks. Anywho, as I sat there in the waiting room I was trying not to laugh because you could definitely notice my belly moving all about. I pretended to be watching the TV until this old man sitting next to me finally said something. He mentioned something about you must have eaten your Wheaties this morning and we both cracked up laughing.
At all of the "official" ultrasounds I've had done they would always tell me that it looks like he has a good cord. Well as we were peeking in on him this morning I caught a glimpse of his umbilical cord...it's massive!! Haha! It was amazing to see how large it was as it was pulsating...so of course I had to take a picture of it to show all of you.

Third Trimester!!

After our prenatal appointment this morning we went in for a growth scan. Due to the fact that I have Factor V Leiden I will be having growth scans (ultrasounds) every three weeks from now until the delivery to make sure Ethan is continuing to gain weight/grow bigger!

We will now be going to prenatal appointments every two weeks instead of every four weeks. It took me off guard that we are already THAT far along. Today I am 28 3/7wks. And Ethan is weighing in at 2lbs 14oz...looks like having a 5lb baby will not be in my cards, haha!

Now that we're in the third trimester we really need to focus on Ethan's room. I know I said we were starting to work on it, but by that I really meant we bought the putty and primer for the walls. Just as long as we get it done before Ethan's arrival!!

We haven't had a whole lot going on lately; other than spending time with family. Ryan's team played their final game of the season last Saturday and lost horribly. Although it was a good season, the Outlaws did not make it to the championship games. On a side note Ryan was offered a coaching position...for an 8th grade football team! The only drawback is that the coaching position is in Saint Francis, MN which is about an hour and fifteen minutes from our house.

Comparing Looks--Mom vs.Dad

We are constantly trying to imagine what little Ethan will look like. And will he look more like Ryan or Anne?! So we thought it would be fun to compare our newborn photos! Can you guess who is who?? Anne is on the left...at almost two weeks post dates she came into this world at a whopping 10lbs 2.5oz. Ryan is on the right...he was born a few weeks early weighing in at only 5lbs 13oz. Both Ryan and I were born at United Hospital, and the plan is to have Ethan there as well! We are praying for a healthy baby boy...preferably around the size Ryan was at birth!!
Here is Ryan as a toddler. He seems to be having lots of fun riding the mini-donkey that is pulling those beautiful flowers...haha picture perfect!

And since we put such a silly photo of Ryan up, here is one of Anne as a toddler! Yes, it's the all too familiar "say cheese" face. But what really compliments that is the Indian headband with the feather in the back, the Indian necklace and a gavel. (I'm guessing the gavel was a safer form of a hatchet.)

July 7th, 2007 (7-7-07)

The new Mr. & Mrs. O'Malley!!!!
All three of us bearing the heat that 7-7-07 brought....we had a 101 degree high!!!

We even decided to dress up Ethan for the special occasion. (Not the most flattering pictures of myself, but it was pretty funny at the time!)

Here is Anne with her mom (Tina), brother (Logan), Dad (Frank), and sister (Molly).

Here I am trying not to cry as Ryan said his vows.

Me trying to say my vows, haha those darn hormones got the best of me!

After the ceremony we all went to Buca di Beppo's for dinner. The waitress had Ryan & I stand up as the whole restaurant sang "chapel of love". I'm sure both of our faces were bright red by the time we sat down. All in all we were really blessed to have such a wonderful day surrounded by our friends/family. By popular demand here is a picture of the Pope. Yes, we sat at the table with a giant lazy susan that held the Pope in the center.
